Gateway to international timbertrade

Supporting growth, transparency and diversification of international timber trade

This web portal is an answer of the European Timber Trade Federation (ETTF) to the numerous questions timber traders have when it comes to legal timber trade, due diligence, country requirements and export. It serves as a central information point, where you can find country profiles on both timber industry and legislation of producer countries, mainly located in tropical Africa, Asia and Latin America. Between the end of 2015 and mid 2016 the first selection of 23 country profiles will be published.

All published profiles have undergone expert review. A distinction is made between Extended and Basic profiles. Basic profiles contain at least the basic profile elements such as industry profile, legality framework, protected species, 3rd party certification and relevant contacts. Extended profiles contain additional relevant information, in particular on laws and regulations.

The construction of this website has been supported by the International Tropical Timber Organization (ITTO) and European Sustainable Tropical Timber Coalition (EU STTC) and builds upon knowledge gathered and published by several organisations and institutions.
